1986
Everything began in 1986 with the meaningful project of creating the emblem for what was then the 9th Congress. The dreams and passion sparked by PIRRO’s mechanical engineering studies started to come to fruition through this special project, which involved designing a customized pantograph machine for intricate miniature work. This project and the successful creation of the emblem marked PIRRO’s first achievement, highlighting his detailed and creative work.
1990
The widespread recognition and endorsement from government institutions and the general public paved the way for Albania’s first gold exhibition, featuring participation from prominent figures. Following the exhibition, PIRRO accumulated several work experiences and received special customized orders, laying the foundation for what is now the thriving artistic and design industry in Albania.
1995
The investments made in 1994-95 to support PIRRO’s ambitious and visionary project started to materialize with a German loan used to acquire the technological equipment for the country’s first gold laboratory, thereby initiating its operations. Each year, we continue to support his work in the spirit of the most modern technology and the highest standards for our unique products. The initial jewellery works for individuals were primarily in silver and gold, while the pinnacle of quality in 1996-97 lies in the medals for the presidency; artistic works that heralded another era of creativity and modernization of the image of state institutions.
1998
PIRRO continues to be avant-garde and dedicated to the highest quality aesthetic modeling of products. This commitment is why we have maintained the quality of the precious Miss Albania crown since 1998. Our success formula has created an aura of prestige in design and precious stones.
2005 - 2010
In 2005, PIRRO evolved into a school of art, increasing skilled artisans and fostering a passion for creativity. The company’s commitment to quality, enhanced by technology, led to a rise in demand for its products both locally and internationally. The PIRRO store network, including locations at Citypark and near “Kavaja’s” street, serves as a creative workshop where clients experience personalized service and unique jewellery.
2010 - 2018
From 2010 to 2018, PIRRO created various collections inspired by national themes, while also embracing the latest global jewellery trends. These collections were unique, blending traditional Albanian elements with modern elegance, showcasing PIRRO’s distinctive craftsmanship in every detail.
2019 - 2024: Primordial Passion – The Culmination of a Visionary
From 2019 to 2024, PIRRO pursued a visionary project, transforming a long-held dream into “Primordial Passion”: a luxury watch epitomizing Albanian craftsmanship. Over five years, PIRRO collaborated with international artisans, including Swiss watchmakers from Agenhor, to create a masterpiece that merges Albanian heritage with modern elegance. Encased in pure gold with finely carved figures representing traditional Albanian dancers and musicians, “Primordial Passion” reflects the spirit and identity of Albania.
Its debut at the 2024 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) marks PIRRO’s highest achievement, celebrating Albanian artistry on an international stage. This watch stands as a legacy of dedication to art, heritage, and innovation, inspiring future generations of Albanian artisans.
Inspiration Behind “Primordial Passion”
“The idea for creating a watch took root after my first visit to Baselworld in 2014, one of the most prestigious watch and jewellery fairs in the world. After years of working in jewelry design, reaching high levels of craftsmanship and technological innovation, I was captivated by the mechanical complexity and innovation displayed in the watch industry. It was there that I began to dream of creating a truly unique watch, one that had never been made before, and that would blend Albanian identity with the essence of my brand.”
“Primordial Passion” is the realization of that dream, opening a new horizon for the Pirro brand and marking a step toward international success. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, this watch stands as both a tribute to our heritage and a symbol of our commitment to innovation and excellence on a global scale.
Today
PIRRO continues to evolve by expanding its legacy beyond jewellery, proudly introducing a new chapter: the creation of authentic Albanian timepieces under the Pirro Watches brand. Born from the same passion for craftsmanship and artistic heritage, these watches represent a fusion of tradition and innovation: a bold step that honours our roots while embracing global standards of luxury. With this new venture, PIRRO not only reaffirms its position as a symbol of Albanian excellence but also paves the way for the first generation of Albanian watchmakers to emerge on the international stage.
